WHO WE ARE

Rural Aids Prevention and Development Organization

Rural AIDS Prevention and Development Organization (RAPADO) is a non-partisan, not for-profit non-governmental organization registered in Kenya under the NGO coordination act in 2004 under legal registration number OP.218/051/2004/0443/3473. RAPADO supports people living in some of Kenya’s toughest places to turn social political and economic inequalities into opportunities for progress. RAPADOs Mission is to empower Vulnerable Populations to access opportunities necessary in the realization of life aspirations.
RAPADO is governed by a seven member Board of Directors [4 males and 3 Female] who consult regularly with the management and staff on policy decisions. Constituents are often encouraged to become involved in leadership roles. We have a team of 25 professional staff [10 female and 15 Male] who work with over 150 communities to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of people across 11 counties in Kenya.

Recognising that effective, responsive and accountable governance requires the inputs of all stakeholders, RAPADO will share the learning generated through it interventions. It is committed to inspiring dialogue from the bottom up, promoting consultations, building consensus, and facilitating convergence, forging partnerships and engaging diverse stakeholders in all programs it undertakes.

Integrity and Accountability

We serve as stewards for our community investments and honour the charitable intentions of our donors to meet current and future community needs. Recognising that our main sources of funding are individuals, corporates and International agencies, RAPADO will act in a thoroughly transparent manner in all its undertakings. It is committed to demonstrating accountability to all its partners. It pursues its mission with commitment, discipline and rigour.

Resourcefulness

Recognising the scale and scope of the challenges facing the people it works with and their communities, RAPADO acknowledges the requirement to be innovative in its responses. It is committed to acting as a catalyst that brings stakeholders together to generate creative and innovative solutions and promote thoughtful analysis and learning

We listen to and learn from our community. We address the root causes of community problems and mobilize resources for the common good.

Scovia Awuor is from a polygamous family. Her father, James Ngore, was born in 1956. Mr. Ngore has two wives Caroline Ngore 48 and Rose Ngore 33 years.
